Welcome to First Baptist Church! We’re so glad you’re here!

What time are your services?

We meet for worship at 8:30 a.m. and again at 11:00 a.m.  Our early service is a “blended” service driven by hymns and some praise music accompanied by the piano and organ.  Our later service is a “contemporary” service with a praise band – guitars, keyboard, drums.  Our first service is also streamed into our Friendship Room.  The words to our songs are displayed on two large screens in our sanctuary.

Sunday school meets at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday.  There are classes for every age and life stage.  Stop at our welcome center close to the east entrance for information or ask a greeter.  They will be easily identified by their “Connect” lanyards and name tags.  They will be stationed at the east and west entrances as well as the entrance into the sanctuary.

 How long is the service?

A typical service lasts approximately an hour, occasionally a few minutes longer.  Sunday school classes meet for an hour.

What should we expect on arrival?

We have limited parking on State Street with mostly handicapped or street parking.  The majority of parking is on the west side of the church along Kelly and Washington.  We do have valet parking available on the State Street side for those who need assistance.  Please pull up under the covered entrance and someone will park your car for you and retrieve it when you are ready to go!

Greeters will be available at each exterior entrance and at the entrance to the sanctuary to answer your questions and help you get where you need to go.  We have a dedicated welcome center with further information about our services and directions in the building and they can answer any further questions you have.

Is there nursery service available for our children?

Yes, we have a staffed nursery available during Sunday school and 11am worship.

Is there a separate “Children’s Church?”

There is!  Kids Connect dismissed from 11am Service.

Does your church offer communion and who can take communion?

We offer communion the first Sunday of every month.  The method in which we share communion differs in each service.   We offer an open communion, you need not be a member to share in communion with us.  We invite all who have placed their trust in Jesus for their salvation to share in this time of remembrance with us.

Do you take up an offering?

We offer online giving on our website and through our phone app.  These can be one-time gifts or set up as recurring gifts.

How should we dress?

Dress for comfort.  In our 8:30 a.m. service, some men still wear suits or sport coats and some women wear dresses.  Most will be business casual or jeans.  Our 11:00 a.m. service is once again a mix of style, heavy on casual (read jeans!) with some business casual and even shorts when the weather permits.
